Compact USB Type-C connectors added to the portfolio
Molex offers a wide range of Type-C I/O connectors whose housing material is made of high-temperature plastic and relies on a three-stage insertion molding process. This ensures a high degree of pluggability. Special tongue design prevents damage caused by improper use, transport or assembly. The extended series of compact USB Type-C connectors support fast charging voltages up to 48V/5A, data throughput of 10Gbit/s, and provide waterproof, robust, and reliable connections for consumer, industrial, and iot devices, as well as a variety of other high-speed I/O applications. Rutronic's USB Type-C connectors are available with a variety of form factors and mounting options.
Connectors are available in 16 or 24 pins. They are suitable for use at 48V voltages and 3/5/6A currents and are tid certified for use at operating temperatures of -30 ° C or -40 ° C to +85 ° C. The robust and reliable USB Type-C connector family includes the following options:
The IP rating of the waterproof connector socket is classified as X5, X7 or X8 according to the model. They have a sealing ring made of liquid silicone rubber that allows easy installation of the connector, has excellent temperature and weather resistance, and adheres firmly to the connector.
USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C connectors offer a particularly wide range of installation options: whether it's flat form factor, upright slim fit or high center height, they offer a high degree of flexibility even in space-constrained applications. If the PCB has a different thickness, the company offers a longer lead socket (Series 217175) to ensure a stable connection to the PCB.
For USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C models, plugs and sockets are available in short and long housings. They allow for a particularly stable and robust connection to the PCB as well as to plugs and sockets. The flat profile and special isolation design provide additional installation flexibility.
