Atmel introduces innovative built-in peripheral touch controllers
Atmel, the global leader in microcontroller (MCU) and touch technology solutions, has introduced the world's first family of built-in peripheral touch controller (PTC) MCUS based on the full 5V ARM Cortex-M0+. The latest Atmel | SMART ARM Cortex-M0+ MCU family combines 5V functionality, DMA, and PTC with excellent water resistance in an innovative way. In addition, the new series of MCUS also has built-in advanced analog capabilities, with EMI and ESD, which is a powerful tool to expand intelligent applications and industrial markets.
The Atmel| SMART microcontroller with built-in PTC is now in mass production and used by leading home appliance manufacturers around the world. With the addition of full 5V functionality to the ARM Cortex M0+ based core and future support for the IEC 60730 Class B security library, the new SAM C MCU will be the best solution to power a new generation of applications for industrial and home appliance manufacturers.
Drawing on Atmel's more than 20 years of successful experience in the MCU space, the new family of MCUS is built with the company's proprietary intelligent peripherals and Event System, which are fully compatible with the SAM D and SAM L series in terms of pins and code. Atmel's free integrated development environment, Atmel Studio, fully supports the new SAM C MCU, and program examples and drivers are available through the Atmel Software Framework.
