Artesyn Embedded Technologies launches for telecommunications and networking equipment

     Artesyn Embedded Technologies has announced a new line of 94.5% efficient DC/DC power converters for telecommunications and networking equipment. The new AVO200 power converter is a 200W fully regulated 1/8 brick DC/DC power module, of which the latest two models provide 12V and 5V output voltages to meet the power requirements of most communication systems, and are most suitable for compact, high current, low voltage, and cost-effective systems. These include wireless, fiber or access network systems, or servers, and computing systems.

     The AVO200 series power converters are suitable for an extremely wide input voltage range of 36V to 75V(DC), which is the standard input voltage range commonly used in telecommunications equipment. The 12V model can output up to 16.7A, while the 5V model can output up to 40A. This series of power converters has excellent heat dissipation capability, operating in the temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius, and all are open or substrate design, allowing engineers to choose conduction or forced air cooling.

     The new AVO200 series of power converters from Artesyn Embedded Technologies offers many unique advantages, including low ripple and noise, fixed switching frequency, high capacitability load, pre-biased start and remote compensation of output voltage, making them easier to integrate into system designs. It also makes engineering projects easier to deploy. Different versions are equipped with through-hole terminations. The two new converters are specially designed to protect against overcurrent, overheating and overvoltage.

     The primary side of the converter is equipped with an enable pin, while the secondary side is equipped with remote compensation and output voltage adjustment functions. These converters use the industry standard 1/8 brick power module package size and pin configuration, open module size is only 58.4 x 22.9 x 9.6 mm (2.3 x 0.9 x 0.378 inches), The size of the baseboard module is only 58.4 x 22.9 x 12.7 (that is, 2.3 x 0.9 x 0.5 inches).
