Artesyn Embedded Technologies introduces new DC power converters
Artesyn Embedded Technologies has announced the introduction of the new ADQ600 Series 600W 1/4 brick isolated DC/DC power converters, which are characterized by high efficiency and extreme heat dissipation to meet the specifications of telecommunications networks and data center infrastructure. Equipped with a fully regulated 12V output, this series of power converters can provide up to 50A output current and there is no minimum load requirement.
The ADQ600 series DC/DC power converters are suitable for input voltages from 40V to 60V, and are most suitable for computing systems and servers with 48V standard supply voltages and for telecommunications equipment with 48V regulated supply voltages. This series of power converters can achieve ultra-high efficiency of 95.6% (typical value) at full load operation, and can operate normally at ambient temperatures of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius, providing an ideal solution for isolated power converters using distributed power supply architecture.
As long as this series of products is used, isolated power converters can provide driving current for non-isolated power converters. The ADQ600 series of power converters is designed with an open architecture, so it is most suitable for devices that use forced air flow or conduction heat dissipation. The same series also has models with aluminum substrates to choose from, which is a stronger heat dissipation product model. The ADQ600 series DC/DC power converters use a power conversion technology that switches at a fixed frequency of 175kHz, thus reducing the number of external EMI filters necessary.
Standard features of this series of power converters include output voltage fine-tuning and remote on/off as well as input undervoltage and input overvoltage locking. In addition, this series of products also implement a comprehensive protection design to prevent the occurrence of output overvoltage, output overcurrent and overheating. The ADQ600 series power converters have been further enhanced for pre-biased start, and once the two power converters are connected in parallel, the entire system automatically provides current sharing in accordance with the voltage drop method to provide higher drive current for high current applications.
Artesyn Embedded Technologies' ADQ600 series power converters are compact and ideal for systems where board space is extremely limited. The open model is only 0.43 inch (11mm) tall when inserted into the board, while the base model is 0.52 inch (13.3mm) tall.
