Artesyn Embedded Technologies introduces a new range of 10W DC/DC power converters that meet medical device safety requirements
Artesyn Embedded Technologies announced the introduction of the new AEE10W-M series 10W DC/DC Power converters, providing Oems developing industrial products and medical devices with a cost-effective and highly regulated power system solution. Ensure that products with auxiliary or reinforced insulation systems are certified to comply with safety standards for industrial products and medical devices.
The AEE10W-M series comes in a compact, sealed, industry-standard package of just 2x1 inches, with 92% efficiency and a wide input voltage range from 9V to 75V(DC). Three different 2:1 rated input voltage ranges are available: 9V to 18V, 18V to 36V, and 36V to 75V. In addition, this series of products is available in fully regulated single output and dual output models.
This reinforced insulation system is a key component required for medical equipment and is rated for operating voltage of 300V(AC) and root mean square voltage of 4200V(AC). The AEE10W-M series is compliant with UL/CSA/EN/IEC 60601-1 Medical Device Safety Standard (3rd Edition) and offers double insulation protection (2X MOOP) according to the Operator Protection Method (MOOP). This series of insulation systems is highly stable and reliable, with an average time to failure (MTBF) of more than 1,000,000 hours (calculated according to the MIL-HDBK-217F test benchmark).
Artesyn Embedded Technologies' AEE10W-M series insulation systems are available in two different outputs: 5V and 12V single-output models, and +12V/-12V and +15V/-15V dual-output models. These DC/DC power modules can operate in a temperature range of -40 ° C to 75 ° C, providing full power output even when operating at temperatures up to 60 ° C, with derated output required when operating in high temperature zones. In addition, this series of insulation systems have other features, such as low leakage and overvoltage protection, which are indispensable for medical devices, and electromagnetic interference resistance meets EN55022 Class A and FCC Level A safety standards.
