Advanced Energy introduces a non-isolated digital DC/DC converter for computing and communication equipment

     The NDQ900 is a fixed-frequency converter with no minimum load requirement. It has active current-sharing capabilities that help connect multiple power supplies in parallel for applications that require greater load current or redundancy capabilities. In addition to PMBus connectivity, the module also provides remote control capabilities and power status signals. Designed with a substrate structure that facilitates improved thermal management and simplified installation of heat sinks, the module is forced-air cooled for superior thermal performance and provides full power in the operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.

     The NDQ900 DC/DC converter works with power up to 900W and efficiency up to 97%. It can provide single-channel adjustable 12.25V output and has PMBus interface for flexible digital control and monitoring. Providing a wide input range of 40V to 60VDC, it is an ideal 48V to 12V converter for high power computing, networking, telecommunications, data storage, test and measurement applications. Its flat efficiency curve ensures that the 1/4 brick module provides ideal power conversion performance over a wide load range.

     The NDQ900 meets all international safety standards and integrates undervoltage locking (UVLO) with protection under overcurrent, overvoltage and overtemperature conditions. Advanced Energy supplies modules with a standard two-year shelf life.
