ADI releases an extended CodeFusion Studio solution to help accelerate product development and ensure data security

Analog Devices, Inc. has expanded its developer-focused suite with new solutions designed to help developers improve efficiency and security while creating greater value for customers. CodeFusion Studio System Planner helps customers innovate at the intelligent edge, improve functionality, and speed product to market. The new data traceability software development solution is designed to build a trust framework for the data generated at the intelligent edge, ensuring that the data remains trustworthy and fidelity from generation to use or storage.

Rob Oshana, senior vice president of ADI's Software and Digital Platforms group, said: "Embedded developers are working more than ever before, not only with increasingly complex processors, but also with the challenges of multi-team development collaboration and an increasingly challenging security environment. We have repeatedly heard from customers who want faster and easier ways to manage system designs, allocate resources, validate concepts, and ensure data integrity at the edge. To address these needs, ADI has introduced an extended CodeFusion Studio system planner and data traceability software development solution."
In recent years, the processing speed, number of cores, functionality and complexity of embedded devices have increased exponentially, which has led to cost and space optimization of embedded devices, but the complexity of the software development process has also increased significantly. Traditional development tools often lack the flexibility and customization to incorporate the efficient development processes and existing code bases required for modern system design. ADI CodeFusion Studio System planner solves many of the challenges of project creation and resource partitioning on complex heterogeneous devices.
ADI CodeFusion Studio System Planner
ADI's CodeFusion Studio System Planner uses a licensed open source architecture that allows for flexible project creation on multi-core platforms and intuitive allocation of memory and peripheral resources through a graphical interface. The product also includes configuration tools that are aware of the real-time operating system or firmware platform used on the kernel and provide context-aware configuration Settings for peripherals or blocks of memory assigned to the kernel. By gaining insight into system performance and improving resource allocation with convenient open source tools, developers will be able to optimize their designs more effectively.
In addition, the System Planner allows developers to create the required code for system generation through plug-in based projects. The system ensures great flexibility for developers while also improving development efficiency with a full set of common configuration tools. For common firmware platforms such as Zephyr RTOS and ADI SDK, the system comes preconfigured with a set of plug-ins that customers can not only create and configure out of the box, but also freely copy and modify these projects according to their own needs. The plug-in system takes advantage of the underlying template engine to modify static files by replacing strings at specific locations, and enhances code generation logic with JavaScript or TypeScript functions.
Finally, the system planner provides graphical utilities to divide memory resources, assigning partitions to a single or multiple cores. This utility is designed to help customers generate link scripts or device tree memory overwrite files. Peripheral modules can also be graphically assigned to the kernel via RTOS-aware configuration options.
In addition to the CodeFusion Studio System Planner, ADI also announced an upgrade to the ADI Assure trusted edge security architecture and the release of an advance version of the company's first data traceability software development solution, designed to provide customers with data trust and traceability assurance throughout the data lifecycle.
ADI data traceability software development solutions
The advanced version of ADI's new data traceability solution builds a trust framework for signal-link data, ensuring the integrity, authenticity and fidelity of data generated at the intelligent edge throughout the system. Data traceability solutions allow additional security metadata to enhance the confidence and fidelity of the generated data. Fidelity is based on the history of the additional data in transit, and confidence is built on strong cryptographic proofs, making it easier for users to assess the authenticity and integrity of their data in complex networks, whether they are used for simple dashboard displays or complex machine learning models.
By establishing end-to-end trust and enhancing data fidelity, data traceability makes model outputs more accurate and secure, while also enabling more accurate decisions. Its immediate applications include: using high-quality real data to build more reliable algorithms or AI models; Extract proven sensor insights to improve understanding of signal chain output and operational reliability; Effectively reduce data waste; And simplify verification of data integrity and authenticity.
